Tom and Steve Phinney AMOs do PreCover Inspection

Steve Phinney, AMO, inspecting lower right wing; the ribs were in much better condition than the lower left wing. Almost all ribs had already been re-glued by Brandon RAA & CATP Museum volunteers in 2006-2007.
Tom Phinney, AMO, inspecting lower right wing - all components were closely inspected following advice from Brandon RAA member, Harold, who worked on the wings in 2006-2007 and gave us advice on condition.
Lower left wing inspected by Tom Phinney and ready for cover.
Aileron control cables have a linkage several feet in from the root rib; Tom figures its to eliminate the need for a guide.
Tom inspecting the lower left aileron - lower right wing and aileron still need varnish - three coats of 2part epoxy varnish used.

Tom inspecting flying wires. They looked in airworthy condition and recommended we take them in to a shop to get coated.
